Built for the neutral.
Diary, sessions, and caucus with recorded consent. Mediation software that knows you act for nobody.
01 / 04
Scope
What we are building.
Everything below lands in the first release. None of it ships before winter.
Diary and sessions
Schedule across mediators and offices, let parties book themselves in, and move an appointment without a phone call. Out-of-hours sessions carry a flag so they bill at the right rate.
Online and in person
Run joint and separate sessions through the video provider you already use, with attendance logged against the case. Kestrel never records a session.
Caucus with recorded consent
When a party tells you something in confidence, Kestrel records your request to share it and their answer, so shuttle work does not rest on your memory of who agreed to what.
Agreement to Mediate
Every participant signs your own wording in the portal before the first session. Kestrel seals the version they agreed to, so nobody argues about it afterwards.
Privilege-aware by default
The memorandum of understanding and the open financial statement are the only documents built to leave a case. Caucus content stays where it was said.
Per-party billing
Bill each party for the sessions they attend, at standard or out-of-hours rates, and split the fee the way your practice already splits it.
02 / 04
The product
Three screens that do the work.
Recreated from the product itself, in the same design tokens it ships with, so they do not age the way a screenshot does.
A party tells you something in confidence. You ask whether you may use it, and their answer is recorded with its scope and the time it was given. The confidence itself never reaches the log, which is what makes the log safe to produce.
MED-2026-0001, caucus
What you may repeat, and what you may not
Would accept a written apology and a move to a different reporting line. Compensation is genuinely not the issue.
Agreed scope
May share the willingness to move reporting line. Must NOT share that compensation is off the table.
Concerned the grievance will affect his probation review in November.
Would accept a move to the other team if the apology came first.
On the record
- Confidence recorded, caucus, 14 Sep 10:12
- Permission to share requested, 14 Sep 10:31
- Permission granted with scope, 14 Sep 10:33
- Permission refused, 14 Sep 11:02
Never on the record
What she actually said. The log proves you asked and what she answered. It carries no word of the confidence itself, which is what makes it safe to produce if your conduct is ever questioned.
Every mediator, every room, every session. The person answering the phone can offer a slot without putting anybody on hold, and an out-of-hours session carries a flag so it bills correctly whether or not anybody remembers.

Online
Thursday 18:30 is outside the working pattern, so it bills at the out-of-hours rate without anybody remembering to say so.
Your practice, your colours, and one thing to do next. Note what is missing: no caucus, no notes, no sight of the other side. A portal that showed everything would be easier to build and would destroy the product.
Your mediation
Your next session is on Tuesday at 10:00
Online. You will get a link of your own an hour before.
- Invitation accepted
- Agreement to Mediate signed

Your documents
Your position statement, and the Agreement to Mediate you signed on 2 September. Anything you send the mediator in confidence stays between you and them unless you say otherwise.
You will be asked each time before anything you say in private is shared with the other party.
03 / 04
Sequencing
Who it is for, and when.
Civil, commercial and workplace mediation come first. Family, MIAM and Legal Aid work follows in 2027, because that ground is regulated and we would rather take the time over it.
Civil and commercial
CMC-registered practices running small claims through to commercial disputes.
Workplace and community
Multi-party matters, which most mediation software still cannot model.
Family, MIAM and Legal Aid
Safeguarding screening, MIAM records and court forms, built to the standard the Family Mediation Council expects.

We would rather hear from you now.
A handful of mediation practices are shaping this with us. If something above sounds like your week, talk to us while the first release can still change.
